Changelog:
-
New Mod Shape: Cross Mod (Lime Green)
-
In this mode, instead of internal low frequency mod shapes, the Oscillator receives wave position modulation from the other Osc.
-
The time control does nothing on a Side with Cross Mod enabled, but will still modulate the opposing Oscillator if any shape other than Cross Mod or Off is selected.
-
The Page 2 Mod Region setting as controlled by the A/BWAVE controls works same as with other Mod Shapes - Wave position parameter determines the start or end point of the modulation.
-
-
New Quantize Operations
-
Toggle 12-Tet Quantization and Scala quantization on/off using the Page 2 FOLLOW button.
-
Yellow 12-Tet Quantize mode works the same way it did in the previous firmware versions. Pots, A/B V/Oct inputs, and transpose input are all 12-TET.
-
Peachy Brown Scala Quantize Mode:
-
On the MW SD card, the module will automatically generate a "scala" folder with eight default .scl files in it. These can be replaced with any standard conforming .scl file
Scala files are NOT ALLOWED that:
Include entries of a ratio < 1x
Include out of order entries. That is any entry of a ratio < the entry before it
-
Scala file to be used for quantization are selected using the Osc A Pitch panel control and the 8 channel LEDs at top of the MW.
-
Once Scala Quantize is selected and you move the Osc A Pitch Knob, all 8 channel LEDs will light dimly peachy except the currently selected channel, which lights a brighter peach color.
-
Selection of scala file is only possible while scala quantize mode is on.
-
In scala mode, transpose and pots are free. A/B V/Oct inputs are quantized based on selected scala file.
-
In scala mode, MIDI notes are quantized according to the scala file.
-
MPE, pitch bend, Osc A pitch CC, and Midi transpose (ch 9) are not quantized
-
-
While Scala is most often referred to as a method using alternate tunings, you are also able to find all Scales and Modes for the commonly used 12-Tet tuning as Scala files as well. In this way, the Scala system is a way to have a configurable quantizer in the Multiwave.
